ERICA WEHRI


Erica Wehri resides in the country outside of a rural town in Ohio where she has a small in-home studio and is currently renovating an exterior building to become her new creative space. Erica can also be found at local collaborative artist spaces in Edon Ohio and Kendallville Indiana exploring clay works such as thrown pottery and hand built pottery.
Erica Wehri is a Multi-Age Education - Art graduate of the University of Toledo and an artist that is currently working with clay as a medium and considers herself a novice ceramist as she continues to learn the language of clay. Erica has chosen art education to pursue her interests in a variety of art media. While at UT, Erica advanced her pottery skills under Alex Ferrante, who was a visiting professor.

Erica's influences range from local artists to the masters. Local potters that influence Erica are Deb Walterhouse, from the Community Learning Center (CLC) in Kendallville Indiana, Kathrine Gaff, of Oklahoma Contemporary (formerly from the CLC), and David Loughborough of Mudsock Glass in Edon Ohio. Some of the masters that have had influence on Erica's work are Dali, Warhol, and O'Keeffe to name a few. An artist that Erica has recently discovered is Barbara Padron Hernandez. A cuban artist.
