Experimental Soundscape
This is an experimental sound scape that was created during my time at the CVA. As I walked around the CVA, listening to the noises that the building makes, I couldn't help but notice the absence of sounds made by people. I have noticed that the halls and most classrooms are quiet and empty when I am there. I felt like a trespasser in the drawing studio, even though I have spent many hours in that space. I walked around the space utilizing whatever materials were accessible to create noise. All the while feeling like someone would "catch" me and ask me what I was doing there. The sound scape is an audio demonstration of the sounds I produced from field recordings with added audio, paired with audio to produce the apprehension felt of possibly being caught in a place that I didn't belong. Is that a metaphor for life? That is to be determined later......
Video/Remix
This video remix consists of a pre-recorded soundscape paired with found video segments and artist recorded video. The premise of the video is about all of the creative possibilities that can happen while on the University of Toledo's (UT) art campus, The Center for Visual Arts (CVA). This project allowed me to expand my understanding of how digital media can be used as an independent art medium and how it can be used to support other areas of work that I am experimenting with.
A lesson that I learned during this process that has a direct impact on my journey to becoming an Art Education teacher is the importance that words have on a project. As this project was developing, there were many in class discussions and from those discussions I made creative decisions. Those creative decisions played a roll in selecting images and ideas that are represented in the final project. After reflecting on the notes from the critique and reviewing the process of this projects creation, I noticed that a common theme in my work is connection. Connection to the process, the environment, other artists, the viewer, and connection to who I working to become as an artist and an Art Educator.
This video is dedicated to all the artists that have discovered and evolved their craft in various studio concentrations while attending UT.

Logo Design

Logo Design for the product Shower Tongs. This Illustrator project demonstrates the use of a logo created for various uses. The assignment required the artist to imagine, design, edit, and present a finalized logo using use Adobe Illustrator tools.
Product description: Shower tongs are a household item that everyone can use. No one likes that gross hair at the bottom of the shower that gets collected on the drain. Shower Tongs allows for quick and easy clean-up. Simply grab your shower tongs, click two to three times to make sure they work, and then pinch that hair up from the drain and deposit it directly in the trash can.
This logo was redesigned based on feedback to reflect a cleaner image that could also be a stamp to allow for expanded uses. Additional descriptive text was added to elaborate details about the product and the processes and tools used in its creation.
