RiP! A Remix Manifesto Article Review

This film provided an interesting perspective between artist, corporations, and the audience. The premise of this film was to highlight the struggles between how people can interact with work created by artists and how that is stifled by corporations that own the rights to the music and want to profit from its use in anyway.

The main take away that I was left with is that culture is meant to be expanded upon, in order to create the next artistic phase. However, this will nearly be impossible if we continue to govern our culture and make decisions in boardrooms. To sum it up, the artist loses and we the people lose. We are forced underground and what should be a celebrated art form, is criminalized and regulated to stop evolution of culture. Collaboration was a vital point in this film. How can something unique not be created during collaboration? It's like improve, it is in the moment and depending on how often the collaborators change, will determine how many new works will be created.

Note: The Creative Commons was created in order to further support the artists and creating by giving permission to use.
